Dinas Stories
Stories from a community that survived its demolition
Dinas is a village just outside Porth where Valleys Kids have a centre. It is built on the site of homes that were pulled down in the 1960s. The inhabitants of those homes were re-housed and dispersed around the Rhondda. However, the links binding them together are undiminished, even after so long years.
Some Dinas people saw the Rhondda Lives! stories and, although there was little archive footage of Dinas itself, they felt, “We need to record our place and its people too.”
